Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern access to CatOnMap — the mobile application and the catonmap.app website (the "Service"). The Service is operated by Sanders Soft LTD (sanderssoftltd.com). By using the Service you agree to these terms.

1What CatOnMap is

The Service has two modes. Hunt — the photo hunt: shooting cats with the camera, geo-based country collections, weekly competitions ("battles"), friends and the paid Lost Cat search. Feed (Catogram) — publishing photos and videos of your own cats from the phone gallery: a friends feed, recommendations and stories. Feed mode content does not take part in battles, rankings or the hunter map. Shooting and publishing are available in the mobile app; the website is for browsing collections, feeds, friends, settings and subscription management.

2Account

• An account is required: e-mail registration with code confirmation, or Google / Apple sign-in.
• You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for all activity in your account.
• One person — one account. Creating accounts to inflate rankings is prohibited.

3Content and moderation

These rules apply to all user content: photos, videos (including the audio track), stories, captions, comments, notes, story replies, cat names and cat profiles.

• Only cat content is published. Every photo and sampled frames of every video pass an automatic ML check and, when needed, human moderation. Content is published after approval; rejected content is never published and the author sees the rejection reason.
• Prohibited: people in the frame (content with a person is rejected automatically); violence or animal abuse; explicit (NSFW) content; content without a cat; links and advertising in captions and comments; other people's content without the rights to it.
• We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour — this applies equally to photos, videos and the audio in them, stories and any texts. A moderation decision can be revisited: already published content may be taken down.
• Texts (comments, captions, notes, story replies, cat names): insults, threats, harassment, hate speech, spam and links are prohibited. Texts are screened by an automated system (including an ML toxicity model) and via user reports; violating texts are hidden, and repeat violations may lead to a permanent ban.
• A post's or photo's author may delete any comment under their content. Visibility settings ("Who sees my gallery", per-post visibility) control who can see and interact with your content.

4Feed mode (Catogram)

• In Feed mode you publish photos and videos of your own cats from the device gallery. This content does not take part in battles, rankings or the hunter map.
• Post limits: up to 10 files per post, of which up to 3 videos; videos up to 60 seconds; photos up to 25 MB, videos up to 100 MB.
• Daily limits on the number of posts and stories; current values are shown in the app.
• Post visibility: "Everyone" (visible to all, included in For you recommendations and on the post's public page) or "Friends only".
• A story lives for 24 hours and is visible only to your followers; the author sees the view count. Stories pass the same moderation as posts.
• For you recommendations are built automatically from public posts based on likes, comments, saves and recency.
• You can tag your cats in posts ("My cats" profiles: name, colour, birth year, avatar).

5Reports and blocking

• You can report any other user's content: a photo, post, video, story, comment or profile.
• You can block any user — their content (including posts and stories) disappears instantly, in both directions.
• Reports are reviewed within 24 hours: offending content is removed and its author may be permanently banned. 3 reports on a comment hide it automatically until human review.

6Content rights

• You keep all rights to your photos and videos.
• By uploading content you grant the Service a non-exclusive licence to store it, process it (preview generation, video transcoding, automatic moderation) and display it: in the app and on the website — in galleries, feeds, profiles, battles, For you recommendations, the Lost Cat search, and, for public posts, on the post's public page at catonmap.app/cp/…
• You confirm that you created the content yourself and hold all rights to it, including the video's audio track (music, voices).

7Free plan and subscriptions

• Free — at no cost: 1 photo every 10 minutes, 20 collection slots, galleries, battles and friends.
• Plus (€2.49 / week) — 1 photo every 3 minutes. Pro (€3.99 / week) — no pauses between shots.
• Subscriptions are purchased and renewed through the App Store or Google Play under the store's rules; they are cancelled there as well. A subscription affects only the photo upload frequency.
• Storage packs — one-time purchases that expand your collection forever: 100 (€4.99), 1,000 (€11.99), 10,000 (€29.99), 100,000 (€99.99) photos. Packs unlock sequentially and never expire.
• Lost Cat — a one-time paid search request for a missing cat: up to 5 photos of the pet, a 7-day search within a 5 km radius with match notifications. The feature is provided "as is" (early access): the automated search compares your photos with other users' shots, and payment does not guarantee a find — the Service provides the search process, not the result. The service is considered rendered once the search starts; refunds follow the App Store / Google Play rules — refund requests are submitted to the respective app store.
• Invite bonuses. A bonus (extra photo slots) is granted for each new user who registers via your invite link, once per user; an invite is credited only within the first 72 hours after the invitee registers. Abuse (self-invites, fake accounts, bulk registrations) is prohibited — such bonuses are revoked and the accounts involved may be banned.
• Refunds are handled under the App Store / Google Play rules.

8Prohibited

• Circumventing limits, moderation or payment mechanisms; using bots or automation.
• Uploading other people's photos or videos, material from the internet or generated content presented as your own.
• Interfering with the operation of the Service, its API or infrastructure.

9Termination

We may restrict or close an account that violates these terms, including ranking manipulation and repeated uploads of prohibited content. You may delete your account at any time in the settings.

10Liability

The Service is provided "as is". We strive for uninterrupted operation but do not guarantee the absence of failures. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the last 12 months.

11Changes to the terms

We may update these terms; the current version is published on this page. By continuing to use the Service after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
