About Us

We turn chance encounters with cats into collections, a game and good deeds.

CatOnMap is a game, a collection and a little bit of magic: spot a cat in the street — snap it — and it stays forever in the gallery of the country where you two met.

Cats come first
The story

How it started

The idea came from a simple observation: almost everyone has a folder of random cats on their phone — from vacations, cafés, backyards. We decided to turn that into a game with collections, rankings and friends. That's how CatOnMap was born: a mobile app for cat "hunting" and a web account for browsing your collection.

What we do

Game, order and helping cats

Country collections

Every geotagged photo lands in the gallery of the country where you met the cat. The more you travel, the bigger your collection.

Fair moderation

Every photo is checked by a neural network: only cats make it into the galleries — no people, no junk, no inappropriate content.

Helping cats

The Lost Cat service helps find missing cats: AI compares photos of a lost pet with shots taken by hunters nearby.

Our principles

What we believe in

1
Cats come first

No people in the frame and no inappropriate content: pre-moderation is built into the product itself.

2
Fair play

Weekly battles are scored by approved photos — one cat, one point, no cheating.

3
Respect for your data

We collect only what the service needs to work and we never sell user data. See the Privacy Policy.

4
Free to start

The essentials — your collection, country galleries, battles and friends — are available without a subscription.
